Examining magistrate Damien Vandermeersch charged guru Luong Minh Dang, alias «master/teacher Dang», of fraud and illegal medical practice within Spiritual Human Yoga (SHY) sect on the 14th of January 1999 after police raid in luxurious castle near Brussels, the venue of specific educational sessions.
The association treasurer Mrs. Vo Thi Minh Hiep, also put under arrest by the magistrate, was since released. Today the guru is freed against 50 million of francs (1,24 million Euro) bail and the promise not to leave Belgian territory.
Investigators started suspecting SHY leadership of organizing gigantic fraud operation a few months ago.
Master Dang, living God for the adepts, and his pseudo-religious group announced the end of the world for the coming 11th of August – the date of total solar eclipse in Europe. The faithful can however hope to escape this fatal destiny by attending teachings of the charismatic leader, the seven levels of initiation during which the student first learns to treat his/her close ones by laying of hands.
At the ultimate stage, the adept will be able to counter natural catastrophes!
To reach this, every participant pays tens of thousands of francs for every stage of education. In the course of recent years, SHY leadership thus pocketed almost 40 million francs on the Belgian territory.
