The guru won't come to Palexpo. Belgian police has again arrested Mr.Dang, the guru of Human and Universal Energy. New developments in the case of Human and Universal Energy movement.
After first questioning last Friday (see our edition for January 12), the Vietnamese guru of the sect, Mr.Dang, alias Kong King Khang, was again arrested by the Belgian police on Thursday morning upon request of the Brussels Public Prosecutor's Office deputy public prosecutor responsible for sect activities in the country. Mr.Dang, an American citizen, was to catch a plane that same day towards Geneva to preside the First World SHY (Spirituality, Humanity, Yoga) Congress taking place this weekend at Palexpo. The grand-master was arrested at 10 am by Brussels BSD Special Research Brigade. The man who wanted to become a king of Vietnam is a subject of complaint for illicit medical practice and fraud. Vo Thi Minh Hiep, the secretary and treasurer of the Belgian association was arrested as well. Mr.Dang was questioned for eight hours by the examining magistrate, explaining him what he is being charged with. These are based on the complaint of grand-parents of a few months old infant.
The baby, suffering from a muscular atrophy, was entrusted - against hard coins of the realm - to treatment by the guru. Due to aggravation of its health, had to take the child to the hospital in emergency before contacting authorities. BSR proceeded to search national headquarters of the movement (14, rue Vilain), as well as private residence of Vo Thi Minh Hiep in the suburban Brussels. Policemen discovered number of written documents. Among them, one showing a sum of 40 millions Belgian francs (1.6 million of ours) channeled by the Belgian association into an American bank account of Mr.Dang.
Majority of Congress participants have reached Geneva yesterday. Large screen and interpretation cabins already installed. The event is to start at 8 am this morning at Halle 7 of Palexpo and to continue until Sunday afternoon. French-speaking local responsible of the movement, Tri-Thien Nguyen, stated that the arrest of Mr. Dang does not at all stop «this Congress which we have been preparing for beginning two years ago». Moreover, organizers have previewed a scenario in case Mr. Dang will be «delayed» abroad. «Anyway, it's not Mr. Dang who is the Human and Universal Energy!» There will be ten other speakers sharing with over 5000 participants from some fifty countries.
