Universal energy could not save Master Dang from the wrath of justice. The founder of Spiritual Human Yoga School (SHY) was yesterday sentenced to 4 years of prison, half of which suspended. The facts are qualified as falsehood, fraud, illegal medical practice and criminal association. The same sentence received by the treasurer of Belgian SHY association.
The case developed around incurable disease stricken child receiving extravagant treatments. The child was diverted from classical medicine to be treated by methods advocated by Mr Dang, 63 years of age. This was followed by a complaint.
Investigation on Luong Minh Dang disclosed a series of offences committed between 1994 and 1999. In the course of his many seminars, the man painted a surreal picture of our environment. He referred to a gigantic eclipse that would cause evaporation of all water on Earth and would cover the planet in dark cloud blanket for three days. He promised his followers will be able to overcome it and guaranteed them health and prosperity. Mr Dang did not further hesitate to give advice in the field of economics, the domain he is not competent in.
Dealing with health, his courses used such terminology as diagnosing, treatment, relieving pain, healing... approaches being applicable in case of all illnesses, including the most complicated ones: cancer, AIDS, cardiovascular diseases... The court ruled this constitutes illegal medical practice.
To convince in the reverse, he provided own diplomas. False ones, concluded the court. The university which he claims to have graduated does not exist... In any case, there was no medical training.
Mr Dang is also sentenced for fraud. This one is relating the designed system of trainings: free at first, then progressively more expensive. The system generating significant gains for him and advancing false talk about redistribution of money.
Finally, criminal association was upheld because the court estimates that the devised structure was directed at cheating people.
Over and above being sentenced for 4 years, 2 of which without remission, Mr Dang is to pay a 10.000 Euro fine and the judge of Lamine de Bex pronounced his immediate arrest. The «healer» did not take part in the proceedings... exempt by a medical certificate.
